1992Summer First state record discovered on 7/16 at L. Vadnais, Ramsey Co. KB (The Loon 64:176–178).
1992Fall First state record (see Summer Season). Reported through 8/4 Ramsey fide RJ (The Loon 64:176–178).
2003Fall Second state record 8/12+ Lac qui Parle (2 adults at Big Stone N.W.R.) †KJB, m.obs. (The Loon 76:46). The same observer found the state's first in July 1992! Photographed by DAC, JPM, and others, with written documentation 8/13, 8/23 (†PCC), 8/16 (†PHS), and on six dates through 10/6 (†BJU).
2004Fall Third state record 8/15 Big Stone (adult in Otrey Township) †PHS, †PCC, ph. KRE, m.ob. Location is less than ten miles from Big Stone N.W.R., where two adults were found 12 August 2003 (The Loon 76:46).

2020Summer2 One found 6/3 Hennepin (Richfield Lake Park) †BAF, ph. †CMB, ph. BAb, m.ob., was joined by a second bird 7/19 †SLC; both were seen and photographed through at least 8/21 m.ob. New county record 6/4 Sherburne (Sherburne N.W.R.) ph. †ToL.
2020Fall1 Continuing adults from the summer season were observed 8/1 – 10/20 Hennepin (max. 2, Richfield Lake Park, the last date that both birds were seen was 8/21) ph. †BAF, ph. †PEB, m.ob.
2021Spring1 A likely returning bird from the past two years was found 4/24 – 5/28 Hennepin (Richfield Lake Park) †BAF, ph. FFa, m.ob., but also see summer report.
2021Summer1 An adult continuing from spring season was joined by a second bird 6/11 Hennepin (Richfield L.) SLC, ph. †DWK, ph. †PEB, ph. CMB, m.ob. Both remained well into the fall season and were photographed by m.ob.
2021Fall2 Continuing adults from the summer season were observed 8/2 – 10/1 Hennepin (max. 2, Richfield Lake Park; last date that both birds were observed was 9/21) BAF, m.ob.; what was possibly one of the same birds was also found 8/10–11 Dakota (Augusta Lake) ph. †DWK, ph. †BAb, m.ob.
 
 Five records: two spring, one summer-fall, and two fall. Recorded in one (2012) of the last ten years. Formerly Casual.
